The markets often offer a variety of fried fish dishes that you can eat directly. Definitely try the herring dipped in onions at the market. They prepare the herring fresh before you. Also, fried fish of every kind is available along with french fries. A very good treat/dessert are poffertjes, which are mini pancakes eaten warm with powdered sugar and butter.
There are many ethnic food options too. Delft has Turkish, Chinese, and Indonesian food.
In case you miss food from the U.S. there is a Subway in the center and there are pizza places available.

Centrum
The center of Delft has many small cafes and restaurants that offer good food.

They have salads, sandwiches, warm dishes, pannenkoeken, and make sure to try poffertjes for dessert. Some of the dishes are a bit pricy, but others are resonable.
