| Dank je/ Bedankt | - non formal Thank you (used with peers and family) |

| Doei | - Bye (pronounced Dewey) |
| Fiets | - Bicycle (pronounced feets) |
| Frikandel | - A fried sausage, common in snack shops |
| Ja | - Yes |
| Kaas | - cheese |
| Kalloen | - turkey |
| Kassabon | - receipt |
| Kip | - chicken |
| Kollegezaal | - lecture hall |
| Korting | - Cut, as in discount. Watch out for "studenten korting", a discount for students. |
| Kroket | - A common fried snack filled with meat paste |
| Magere | - Skim (as in milk and yogurt) |
| Nee | - No |
| Paard | - horse |
| Rook/Roken/Gerookt | - Smoke/smoking/smoked |
| Schotel | - Dish (As in food served on a plate) |
| Spek | - Bacon |

| Volle | - full (i.e. volle melk = whole milk) |

Dutch Language Course
There is also a dutch language course offered through the University. You have to take an exam to qualify. More information can be found at delftsemethode.nl. You can also find an online study guide.
